I just love chubby babies...my kids did not have those rolls and I am so excited when I get to photograph a munchkin with layers of folds. It just makes you want to kiss them and squish their little cheeks.
This little man is the baby brother of a wonderful client who I photographed the first year of life for their first child. I commend them for keeping up on the pictures for the second child...he will feel cherished as well
Tomorrow night I am going to be hosting a booth at the Skyview Vendor Night, if you happen to be out there to view your student's curriculum...stop by, I'd love to meet with you. This is a chance for parents to meet vendors that offer services to them and their student. I will have large images for you to view, albums, as well as some goodies...hope to see you there!
I had such a great time with Sally...we shot out in Hockinson and some new found, beloved spots
I am so passionate about shooting modeling sessions! I can't tell you how alive I become when I am able to help draw out the natural beauty of a person. It is so rewarding and I am very excited to share these images with you.
You may have called our business phone recently and heard a different voice on the phone! I am thrilled to announce that I now have an office manager!!! So excited, that we are taking this next step in our business.
Here is the beautiful, extraordinary Pamela, woman of many skills. Pamela and I have been friends for many years now and it is with great excitement that she joins our team. She will now be handling all calls, emails and requests for appointments, she will also be meeting with you for your ordering session. She will keep in touch with you about upcoming events and studio specials. Most importantly she will help me keep my thoughts straight and we all want that This step is integral in allowing me the time to focus on the parts of my business that I am best at which is photographing you!
Today we headed out to our secret, special place and had the best time, running around and climbing on cars...Pamela had a hitchhiking praying mantis decide her leg was the perfect place to take a snooze. It was the perfect overcast, northwest day to shoot our session in.
I have been incognito for the last few weeks! Life has been busy preparing for my fall season with new designs and packaging. Lots of work, but I am excited to introduce my business's face lift
Also I am preparing for a Senior Open House at Skyview at the beginning of October. I needed some new promo material and so I created this album of one of my beautiful seniors from this summer.
This album is going to be a really creative size...6x12...so enjoy the preview, I will take some pictures of it when the albums arrive back from the binders!
Last night I shot a wedding for a fellow photographer's daughter, Phil Pomeroy. Reed and Danielle were so in love, you could feel the intensity! I just love being apart of a day filled with so much emotion. They had an intimate ceremony at the academy.
First day of school...it brings with it many emotions...elation, joy, a tiny bit of sadness, butterfly's in the tummy. We had it all as I walked my kids to their first day of the rest of the year! Jake is going into full day Kindergarten and Aubree is entering 2nd grade. This is the first time in almost 8 years that I will have the week to myself...wow! I am so excited, but also a little sad, because this means my babies have grown into little people who don't need me near as much as they used to.
Those who know my kids could guess how they fared, Aub walked in with her head held high, saying hi to all of her friends. She was her usual confident self, with a little bit of nervous energy. Jake on the other hand had a death grip on my hand and begged me not to go. I stayed with him for awhile and when he was engaged with talking to his teacher I slipped out, telling him goodbye and to hold onto my hug when he was missing me. They are such little fish swimming in a big pond...but I am so proud of each of them. It is wonderful seeing them step out on their own and become confident people that will make a difference to those they meet.
Today I had the privilege of meeting one of my past senior client's sister. Miss "M"...what an amazing smile...she lights up a room, seriously, her smile was so contagious. Her mom came along and helped with the stylizing Kelly was shooting with me and helping pose...love that girl! We shot some head shots at the studio, then headed down to one of my favorite beaches, then ended our evening downtown. I enjoyed each moment I spent with these ladies. I love my job, it is so amazing
Enjoy this beautiful senior, Miss "M" enjoy the sneak peak...thank you for allowing me to capture who you are.
what a special bond mom & daughter have, it gives me hope that my little girl and I will continue to be this close as she grows into a woman
So in between all the editing and designing I am working on lately, I stole a few hours for my kids and myself and visited with Kathy and her kiddlets.
The kids played in the sand, raced in the water and Kathy and I shared our trials and triumphs as mom's as well as photographers. It is aways a refreshing treat for me to be around Kathy. I love her no nonsense approach, she gets to the heart of the matter in a short time, without all the fluff I have a tendency to add in for good measure LOL! Those of you who know me well, know what I am talking about.
I feel so inspired when I am in the presence of other's who are sharing the same journey of balance in our busy lives of mothers and our overwhelming desire to excel in our photography careers. It is such a balancing act and I respect Kathy's perspective and choices for her family.
So without further ado here is our stolen afternoon...
